About The Authors


Kate McMurry was born and raised in small-town Missouri and has lived as an adult in California, New York, France, Georgia, Northern Virginia and Florida. She is married with two grown children and shares her empty nest with a wonderful husband. She has an undergraduate degree in sociology and political science and has completed graduate studies in English education, creative writing and counseling psychology. Kate has taught in the public schools, at the college and university levels, and in private seminars, and has worked as a family therapist, a business consultant, and a paralegal. During her many decades as a freelance writer, Kate has produced hundreds of articles and in-house training documents on the subjects of parenting, education, health and healing, the environment, business and legal issues, computer software use, and fiction writing. In addition, she has published poetry and is an Amazon Vine and Top Reviewer. Girl vs Ghost is her first novel. 

Marie August was born in San Diego, California and has lived in Missouri, Georgia, Florida, Virginia, and Maryland. She is married and has an adorable, infant daughter named Penelope Rose. Marie has a BA in Arts and Visual Technology with a concentration in drawing from George Mason University of Fairfax, Virginia. She is co-owner with her brother Alex of her own residential property appraisal business, August Appraisals. Girl vs Ghost is her first novel.
